Sony’s popular game, Ghost of Tsushima, has recently been ported to PC, but not without its fair share of issues. While the game runs smoothly on a variety of hardware configurations, it seems to have compatibility problems with Intel Ark GPUs.
After conducting extensive performance testing on a range of CPUs and GPUs, it has become clear that Intel Ark GPUs, in particular, are not able to handle Ghost of Tsushima properly. While the game does not result in any freezes or total PC crashes, the performance on Intel Ark GPUs is subpar compared to AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.
One of the most glaring issues with the game on Intel Ark GPUs is the rendering bugs that have been observed. Missing upper arms and floating clothing items follow the player around like a poltergeist, making for a less than immersive gaming experience. This level of visual discrepancy is something rarely seen in games of this caliber.
Although it is expected that Intel will release driver updates to address these bugs, the fact remains that the issues with Intel Ark GPUs should have been identified and resolved during the testing phase of the game’s porting process. The lack of proper testing for Intel Ark GPUs is especially puzzling given that the game fully supports Intel’s XeSS upscaler.
In contrast, AMD and Nvidia GPUs have not exhibited any of the rendering bugs or performance issues seen with Intel Ark GPUs. This suggests that the problem lies specifically with the compatibility between Ghost of Tsushima and Intel’s graphics architecture.
The issues experienced with Ghost of Tsushima on Intel Ark GPUs highlight the importance of thorough testing and optimization during the porting process. While it is expected that driver updates will eventually resolve these problems, the fact that such major bugs slipped through the cracks is concerning. Players using Intel Ark GPUs may have to wait for a fix before being able to fully enjoy the game without visual discrepancies and performance issues.
