The next Concord beta is now available, and as we’re entering the Open Beta phase this means that anyone can download it and give it a go for themselves. Those on PS5 don’t even need to have a PS+ subscription to play during this beta weekend! This is a perfect opportunity to try out Firewalk’s hero shooter over a month before the August 23 launch date. Thanks to Concord crossplay you’ll be able to join up with friends across PS5 and PC. The Concord beta is divided into two separate sessions, which will be running over consecutive weekends.
The first session is the Concord Beta Early Access weekend which will take place from 12-14 July (Friday-Sunday). To participate in the Early Access beta, you need to pre-order the game through the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, Epic Games Store, or Steam. Pre-ordering the game will grant you access to the Early Access weekend. Those who pre-order will receive an email containing codes for you and four of your friends, allowing you all to access the beta early. Pre-loading the Early Access Beta on PS5 is already available for those who have pre-ordered the game, so you can jump right in when it launches on July 12.
If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can also play during the Early Access session, however, pre-loading is not an option. As for the Concord Open Beta, anyone can play so you just need to install it onto your PS5 or PC when it launches on July 18. Those on PS5 can pre-download the beta from July 17 to get ahead and dive straight in at launch. Progress made during the Early Access Beta will carry over to the Open Beta, giving early players a head start.

Character Roster and Game Modes

The Concord beta will include all 16 of the available characters, or Freegunners as they’re referred to in the game. This provides players with the opportunity to try out each character and decide which ones best match their playstyle. The full release of the game will feature 12 unique maps in a variety of settings, along with six distinct team-based game modes. The game modes available in the Concord beta include Cargo Run, Clash Point, Trophy Hunt, and Area Control. The Open Beta will also introduce the Bone Mines map for players to explore.
The characters available in the game are 1-0ff, Bazz, DaVeers, Daw, Duchess, Emari, Haymar, It-Z, Jabali, Kyps, Lark, Lennox, Roka, Star Child, Teo, and Vale. Players can familiarize themselves with each character to determine their favorite before the full game launches on August 23. Progress made during the beta will not carry over to the full game, but beta testers will receive the Lil’ Frog weapon charm and the Star Flare Business Card as a thank you gift for participating in the beta.
