Fortnite fans were thrilled with the recent major reveals at Disney’s D23 event, where it was announced that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 will be a Marvel-focused season called Absolute Doom. The new season, set to begin on August 16, will feature a battle pass filled with Marvel skins, including a new Peely skin named Peelverine. The trailer revealed a lineup of exciting new skins to unlock by leveling up, such as Gwenpool, War Machine, Emma Frost, Shuri, Mysterio, Peelverine, and Captain Jonesy. Additionally, Doctor Doom will be the mid-season unlock, adding to the anticipation for what’s to come in this new season.

In addition to the new skins, players can look forward to using new Marvel powers and abilities in the gameplay. These powers include Shuri’s claws, War Machine’s weapon rig, Iron Man’s energy blasts and flight, Captain America’s Shield, and Doctor Doom’s gauntlets. However, fans were disappointed by the absence of any mention of the Fantastic Four during the presentation. Despite this omission, the new Marvel powers and abilities offer a fresh and exciting gameplay experience for Fortnite players.

In a surprising turn of events, the D23 presentation also featured collaborations with other Disney franchises, including Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios. While fans were eager for more information on these collaborations, the focus remained on new skins for the game. Several skins based on classic Disney animated villains were revealed, including Cruella DeVille, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, with a fall release date hinting at a possible inclusion in Fortnitemares in October. Additionally, Fortnite will be receiving its first Pixar skins through a collaboration with The Incredibles, adding even more variety and fun to the game.

One notable change in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is the shift to battle pass exclusivity, which may disappoint players hoping to acquire the old Mandalorian skin and Grogu back bling. However, on August 12, new skins for IG-11 and Moff Gideon will be added to the item shop, along with a new Grogu back bling for those who missed out on the previous one. These changes, while potentially frustrating for some players, showcase Epic Games’ commitment to introducing fresh content and collaborations to keep the game exciting and engaging for fans.
