Wuthering Waves, the new open-world RPG gacha game by Kuro Games, has encountered numerous problems since its launch. Despite being a free-to-play offering, the game has faced issues with player logins, performance-related glitches, and localized text complaints. The studio has been swift to respond by issuing hotfixes to rectify login problems and has promised further patches to address performance issues.

One of the major setbacks experienced by players was the inability to log in, with some users unable to access the game at all. Performance issues such as lags, freezes, low frame rates, and crashes further added to the frustration. Even attempts to play the game on different devices like the Steam Deck proved unsuccessful. Kuro Games have acknowledged these technical problems and have been working on resolving them through a series of hotfixes.

Upcoming Improvements

Looking ahead, the studio has outlined a roadmap of improvements aimed at enhancing the overall gaming experience. One of the key areas of focus is on enhancing the game’s storytelling by making more in-game scenes skippable. This change is expected to provide players with greater control over their gameplay and allow for a smoother progression through the main quest. Additionally, improvements to combat mechanics are also in the pipeline, with plans to optimize the combat experience by adding visual responses for attacks and addressing visibility issues during battles.

To make amends for the inconvenience caused by the game’s initial problems, Kuro Games has announced a compensation plan for players. Those who reach Union Level 2 or higher by a specified date will receive ten Radiant Tide items as a token of appreciation. In addition, a Voucher of Reciprocal Tides will be available for the next year, allowing players to claim a free 5-star Standard Resonator of their choice. These gestures of goodwill aim to compensate players for any dissatisfaction they may have experienced during their time playing Wuthering Waves.

While Wuthering Waves may have faced a rocky start, Kuro Games’ commitment to addressing player concerns and implementing improvements shows their dedication to delivering an enjoyable gaming experience. By actively listening to feedback and taking decisive actions to resolve issues, the studio demonstrates a willingness to prioritize player satisfaction. As the game progresses and further updates are rolled out, players can look forward to a more polished and engaging gameplay experience in Wuthering Waves.
