Baldur’s Gate 3 players can rejoice as hotfix 21 is now live on all platforms, except for Xbox, addressing the issue with the item transfer system. This feature was widely praised as one of the best post-launch changes, allowing players to seamlessly transfer items between companions at any time. However, in recent weeks, this feature had become broken, much to the frustration of players. With the latest hotfix, developer Larian has resolved this issue, ensuring that players can once again transfer items to specific camp companions even while outside of camp. This fix is expected to enhance the overall gameplay experience and make inventory management smoother for players.

Additional Bug Fixes and Improvements

In addition to the item transfer system fix, hotfix 21 also includes several other bug fixes and improvements. One notable fix addresses a humorous bug involving Gale’s ‘bad’ ending, where the Wizard of Waterdeep blows himself up to take out the Netherbrain. This bug could result in players being turned into a mote during the epilogue scene, rendering them unable to interact with other characters. With this fix, players can now enjoy a more satisfying conclusion to their playthroughs. Furthermore, the hotfix addresses five other crashes and bugs, including new error checkers for save loading issues and fixes for crashes during character creation and specific in-game conversations.

Xbox Series X Update

While hotfix 21 is available on PC, PS5, and Mac, Xbox Series X players will have to wait a bit longer for the update. According to Larian, hotfixes 20 and 21 are still undergoing testing on the Xbox platform due to a crash bug that was discovered. As a result, cross-platform saves will not be loadable on Xbox if they come from platforms that have already been updated with hotfixes 20 or 21. Larian assures Xbox players that they are working diligently to bring these hotfixes to the platform as soon as possible, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the delay.

The latest hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3 brings much-needed improvements to the game, addressing critical issues such as the item transfer system and various bugs and crashes. Players can now enjoy a smoother gameplay experience and a more stable environment for their adventures in the world of Baldur’s Gate. With ongoing support and updates from the developers, the future looks bright for this beloved RPG title.
