In recent weeks, Arrowhead Game Studios has been facing backlash from players of Helldivers 2 who are being unfairly booted from missions by griefers and trolls. These players have taken to sharing viral clips that depict them getting kicked from missions during crucial moments, such as extraction or the extraction cutscene.

Community manager Twinbeard acknowledged the issue on the Helldivers 2 Discord channel and mentioned that a solution is in the works to address the problem of unfair kicking by lobby leaders. While not providing a specific timeline for the fix, Twinbeard assured players that the developers are actively working on it.

The community has put forward various ideas for resolving the issue, including drawing inspiration from other cooperative games like Deep Rock Galactic. One suggestion involves compensating kicked players with a portion of the XP and resources they gathered during the mission, similar to how Deep Rock Galactic handles such situations.

Another proposed solution revolves around implementing a reputation system where players can rate each other at the end of missions. This system would reward well-behaved players with better matchmaking opportunities, while grouping trolls and griefers together to prevent them from disrupting other players’ experiences.

Players have expressed their frustration with being kicked from missions unfairly and are eager to see a solution implemented soon. Many have voiced their support for the proposed reputation system as a way to hold disruptive players accountable for their actions and create a more positive multiplayer environment.

Arrowhead Game Studios is actively working on addressing the issue of unfair booting in Helldivers 2. By listening to player feedback and considering various potential solutions, the developers are striving to create a more inclusive and enjoyable gaming experience for all players. It is important for the community to continue providing constructive feedback and support as the developers work towards implementing a fix for this issue.
