Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, has expressed his belief that the upcoming Part 3 of the Remake trilogy will be a game like no other. During a recent live presentation titled ‘Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Summoning A Masterpiece’, Hamaguchi, along with producer Yoshinori Kitase, delved into the details of the making of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, the focus shifted towards the future of the trilogy, with both Hamaguchi and Kitase hyping up fans for what’s to come in the final installment.

Kitase shared his excitement for the concluding game, stating, “When I think about the third and final game in the Remake trilogy, it really does fill me with excitement, and I have such great expectations toward it as well.” He assured fans that their feedback from the first two games will be taken into consideration for Part 3, promising that it will meet and even surpass their expectations. The goal is to expand and enhance the world of Final Fantasy 7, creating a gaming experience that is both nostalgic and innovative.

Development Progress

While there is no concrete release date for the final game in the trilogy, the development team is hard at work. Hamaguchi hinted at the possibility of transitioning to Unreal Engine 5 to expedite the process if it proves to be more efficient. He expressed his confidence in the team’s abilities, stating, “I am absolutely confident that the third game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will be one of the most loved, most popular games in the whole history of video games once again.”

Considering the immense success and critical acclaim of the original Final Fantasy 7 as well as its Remake and Rebirth counterparts, Hamaguchi’s bold claims may hold weight. The team behind the game has remained consistent, with no significant changes at the highest levels. With such a strong foundation and a dedicated fan base, the stage is set for Part 3 to make a significant impact in the gaming world.

The Road Ahead

While Hamaguchi’s statements may seem like bravado in any other context, Final Fantasy 7’s legacy as one of the greatest games of all time lends credibility to his claims. As the story and world of the game have evolved and become more complex over the years, the challenge lies in bringing everything together seamlessly in the final installment. Only time will reveal whether the team at Square Enix can deliver on their ambitious vision for the future of Final Fantasy 7.
