Universal Orlando Resort has recently unveiled details about the highly anticipated Universal Helios Grand Hotel, set to open its doors in 2025 as part of the upcoming Epic Universe theme park. The hotel, boasting 500 rooms, is aptly named after the Greek god of the sun, Helios. One of the standout features of this grand resort is its prime location within the park, offering guests exclusive access through its dedicated entrance to Epic Universe. In addition, guests staying at Helios, along with guests at Universal’s other hotels, will enjoy the privilege of early park admission and convenient access to a complimentary shuttle bus service.
Aesthetics and Amenities
Partnering with Loews Hotels, Universal has meticulously crafted the Helios Grand Hotel to embody a Mediterranean-inspired architectural style, complete with lush gardens and serene water features that envelop the property. Described as “palatial” by Universal, the resort is designed to seamlessly blend immersive experiences with ultimate relaxation. The impressive lobby of Helios features floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views of the immersive Celestial Park within Epic Universe.
The guest rooms at Helios are thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of tranquility akin to a serene garden oasis. The hotel also features themed suites inspired by the popular “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, catering to younger guests. On-site amenities include a well-equipped gym, a vibrant game room, and a boutique store. Guests can dine at the upscale Flora Taverna restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or grab a coffee at the charming Aurora Market. For a more laid-back experience, the rooftop lounge, Bar Helios, offers panoramic views of Epic Universe along with an array of drinks and culinary delights.
Luxurious Pool Area and Entertainment
Helios Grand Hotel boasts a lavish pool area, complete with underwater speakers, relaxing cabanas, a rejuvenating hot tub, and poolside movie screenings to enhance the guest experience. The poolside bar and grill, Lotus Lagoon, offer a variety of refreshments and snacks for guests to enjoy. While the exact pricing for accommodations at Helios has not been disclosed, it is expected to reflect the luxurious nature of the resort.
This latest addition to Universal’s hotel portfolio contributes to a total of 11 properties and 11,000 rooms across the resort. The introduction of the Signature Collection, Prime Value line, and Value Inns and Suites reflects Universal’s commitment to providing diverse options for guests across varying budgets. As Universal prepares for the launch of Helios and Epic Universe, it faces competition from rival Disney World, which is also undergoing extensive updates and enhancements to its iconic Magic Kingdom.
