Bang & Olufsen has recently unveiled their latest addition to their headphone lineup, the Beoplay H100. With a price tag of $1,549, these headphones are setting a new standard for luxury in the audio industry. The company claims that the high cost is justified by the use of premium materials such as lambskin leather and scratch-resistant glass, as well as improved noise-cancellation technology.

One of the key features of the Beoplay H100 is its focus on repairability. The ear pad and headband cushions are now easily detachable and replaceable, allowing users to extend the lifespan of their headphones. This is a crucial selling point for a product at this price point, as consumers do not want to see their expensive headphones become e-waste due to simple wear and tear issues.

The Beoplay H100 boasts a pair of 40-millimeter custom-made titanium drivers that deliver high-resolution 96kHz/24-bit audio. In addition, the headphones support Dolby Atmos spatial audio with built-in head tracking, providing an immersive listening experience. The active noise-cancellation feature is powered by 10 microphones, promising improved performance over previous models.

One interesting feature of the Beoplay H100 is the adjustable haptic dial on the ear cups, which allows users to switch between ANC and transparency modes with ease. This feature, pioneered by Microsoft’s Surface headphones, demonstrates Bang & Olufsen’s commitment to innovation in their product design.

While the Beoplay H100 offers an impressive 32 hours of battery life with ANC on, it falls slightly short of its predecessor, the H95, which managed 38 hours. Furthermore, enabling spatial audio and head tracking reduces the battery life by an additional two hours. However, the headphones do not have a power button and instead turn on automatically when worn, enter a low-power mode when taken off, and power off completely when placed in the included carrying case.

Bang & Olufsen also claims that a five-minute charge will provide an extra five hours of playback, ensuring that users are never without their music for long periods of time. Overall, the convenience features of the Beoplay H100 make them a practical choice for consumers on-the-go.

The Beoplay H100 headphones are currently available for purchase on Bang & Olufsen’s website in three different colorways: infinite black, hourglass sand, and sunset apricot. The variety of colors allows users to personalize their listening experience to match their unique style preferences.

The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 headphones offer a blend of premium materials, advanced audio technology, and convenient features that set them apart in the luxury headphone market. While the high price may be a barrier for some consumers, those looking for a top-of-the-line listening experience may find the investment worth it for the quality and innovation that the Beoplay H100 provides.
