Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, offers players a truly unique event in the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington. One wrong move in this event can turn players into a sentient wheel of cheese. Surprisingly, 1.9 million BG3 players found themselves transformed into cheese during their gameplay. This unexpected turn of events forced players to either restart the game or endure 20 rounds of gameplay as a near-useless 1 HP cheese wheel. It’s a strange and challenging experience that showcases the unpredictable nature of the game.
Apart from the cheese incident, Larian Studios also revealed a range of other player experiences in Baldur’s Gate 3. For example, 3.5 million players were sent to the past to encounter packs of roving dinosaurs through an optional side quest. Additionally, 2 million players freed Us, a walking brain, from the Colony. One of the most exciting achievements was when 377,000 Dark Urge players managed to free Alfira and birth the dawn of lute rock. These diverse experiences highlight the vast and intriguing world created by the developers for players to explore.
Larian Studios celebrated player achievements by sharing some interesting statistics. Only 141,660 players have completed Honour Mode, a challenging campaign featuring stronger bosses, stricter rules, a single save file, and permadeath. Furthermore, 1,223,305 regular players ended the game in defeat, with 76% of those players deleting their save game to start the final fight again. These numbers illustrate the level of difficulty and commitment required to succeed in Baldur’s Gate 3.
In addition, Larian Studios revealed insights into player interactions with companions in the game. Shadowheart emerged as the most-kissed game companion, accumulating a total of 27 million kisses. Astarion followed closely behind with 15 million kisses, while Minthara received the least amount of affection with just 169,937 kisses. These statistics shed light on the diverse relationships players can form with companions throughout their journey.
In a more quirky revelation, Larian Studios shared some intimate statistics from player interactions in Baldur’s Gate 3. For instance, 658,000 players had sex with Halsin, with 30% of those players choosing to engage in intimate moments while he was in bear form. Furthermore, 1.1 million players had romantic encounters with the tentacle-faced Emperor, with 37% opting for the “sensual pleasure of mind flayer tentacles.” On a lighter note, the pet dog Scratch has been petted 120 million times, and the Owlbear Cub has received over 41 million pets, emphasizing the heartwarming connections players forge with virtual companions.
Overall, the varied experiences and choices available to players in Baldur’s Gate 3 showcase the rich and immersive world crafted by Larian Studios. From bizarre transformations to challenging quests and intimate moments, the game offers a plethora of opportunities for players to explore, interact, and create their own unique stories within the fantastical realm of the Forgotten Realms.
