Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the successor to the Suikoden RPG series, has garnered attention with its upcoming release on April 23. Rabbit & Bear studio, the creators, announced the game in 2020 through a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. With a nod to classic RPG themes, the game combines a large narrative and strategic gameplay to appeal to fans of the genre.

Players eager to secure their copy ahead of the game’s launch can avail of a special offer at Fanatical, where the game is priced at $39.49, a 20% discount from the original price of $50. While this deal is exclusive to Fanatical, the game is also available on Steam and The Epic Games Store for those who prefer those platforms. Additionally, players on different consoles such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox can anticipate the game’s release on April 23, with PS5 and Switch receiving physical versions outside Japan. However, these physical copies do not include any preorder bonuses.

For digital preorders, players can look forward to receiving preorder bonuses such as the Early Bird Pack item bundle and the Headquarters Custom Object DLC, adding extra content to enhance their gameplay experience. While these bonuses are available for PlayStation, PC, and Xbox preorders, they will also be available as purchasable DLC after the game’s launch for all platforms.

Standard Edition vs. Deluxe Edition

The standard edition of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is priced at $50 for PS5 and $60 for Nintendo Switch, with the latter releasing a month later than other platforms. However, players can opt for the Digital Deluxe edition at $80, providing early access and several exclusive items. True to its roots, the game retains the essence of Suikoden’s gameplay mechanics while incorporating modern elements like voice acting and advanced visuals.

Developer’s Legacy and Future

Developed by Rabbit & Bear Studios, a team with original Suikoden developers, Eiyuden Chronicle pays homage to its predecessor while introducing new elements to captivate a broader audience. Despite facing setbacks like the passing of creator Yoshitaka Murayama, the team remains dedicated to carrying on the legacy of the franchise.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes presents an exciting prospect for both longtime fans of the Suikoden series and newcomers to the RPG genre. By offering a blend of traditional and modern gameplay elements, along with preorder bonuses and deluxe editions, the game aims to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for players across various platforms. With its release on the horizon, anticipation is high for what promises to be a memorable addition to the world of RPG gaming.
