Bandai Namco, in collaboration with Hello Kitty, is set to release a new line of Hello Kitty-themed Tamagotchi devices later this year. The upcoming batch includes two Tamagotchi Nanos and a new version of the Tamagotchi Uni. These Tamagotchi Nanos will follow the traditional Tamagotchi gameplay, starting as an egg that evolves into an adult form through feeding and playing mini-games. However, the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nanos will introduce unique content, such as the ability to feed your virtual pet Hello Kitty’s favorite foods like milk and apple pie. Hello Kitty herself will also play a role in helping to maintain your Tamagotchi’s room cleanliness and even accompany it on trips. Upon reaching adulthood, the Tamagotchi will transform into one of seven forms, including two exclusives only available on the Hello Kitty-themed devices. Both red and blue shell designs will be available for purchase on July 9 at a price of $20, complete with a clasping carrying chain and batteries. Preorders are currently open on Amazon.
Introducing the Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters
Accompanying the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nanos is the new Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters, featuring Hello Kitty and other beloved Sanrio characters. Similar to its predecessors, the Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters offers an enhanced version of the classic Tamagotchi device with modern features like a color screen, expanded mini games with collectible items, and internet connectivity for sharing your virtual pet’s fashion on the “Tamaverse.” Unlike traditional keychain designs, the Tamagotchi Uni devices are designed like wristwatches, and the Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters comes with a pink watch band and a Hello Kitty-themed shell. Players can also look forward to collecting costumes and other in-game items inspired by Hello Kitty and other Sanrio mascots. The Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters is scheduled to launch on July 12 at a cost of $70, with preorders currently available on Amazon.
