Paramount recently launched the six-part Knuckles TV series on Paramount+, but for fans who prefer physical collections, the Blu-ray version of the animated cartoon is already available for preorder. There are three different editions of Knuckles available for preorder, one of which includes a collectible steelbook case. However, the preorders for Knuckles are currently limited to Blu-ray and DVD formats. It is uncertain whether Knuckles will be released on 4K Blu-ray in the future.
As of now, there has been no announcement regarding the release date of Knuckles on Blu-ray and DVD. Preorders are open on Amazon for $26 for the standard Blu-ray edition and $32 for the steelbook edition. The DVD version is available for preorder at $18. Due to the recent addition of the Knuckles TV series on Paramount+, the physical edition may take some time to be delivered. While no special features have been revealed yet, it is possible that behind-the-scenes content or new shorts may be included in the release.
Idris Elba, known for playing Knuckles in the Sonic 2 film, also reprised his role for the Knuckles TV series. The live-action series consists of six parts and follows the echidna as he trains his protégé, Wade, in combat and survival skills. The show has received mixed reviews from critics, with some describing it as a family-friendly budget comedy that is fairly entertaining.
Additional Sonic Content
While awaiting the release of the Knuckles Blu-ray, fans can explore other Sonic-related content. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2-Movie Collection (Steelbook Edition) is currently discounted to $29 and includes both the first and second movies in the series, along with bonus features such as a new animated short, bloopers, and deleted scenes. For fans of Sonic’s animated TV shows, options include the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Complete Series on Blu-ray and Sonic Boom’s complete series, which comes in a special steelbook case. Anime enthusiasts may enjoy the complete Sonic X series on Blu-ray, featuring all 78 episodes dubbed in English.
All six episodes of the Knuckles TV series are currently available for streaming on Paramount+. While waiting for the physical release, fans can enjoy the series on the streaming platform.
