The Ghostbusters franchise seems to be the gift that keeps on giving, with endless reboots and sequels attempting to cash in on nostalgia. Destiny 2 is the latest to jump on the Ghostbusters bandwagon, offering Ghostbusters cosmetics to its players. The crossover event will feature familiar elements from the Ghostbusters universe, including the iconic green ghoulie Slimer.

In the upcoming Destiny 2 event, Slimer will play a prominent role, transforming into a strangely polygonal skin for players’ floating Ghost pal. The design of Slimer’s accordion arms may leave some scratching their heads, wondering what went wrong in the design process. Despite the oddities, Slimer’s presence adds a touch of nostalgia for fans of the Ghostbusters franchise.

Echo-1, another classic element of the Ghostbusters universe, will also make an appearance in Destiny 2. While Bungie has not provided specific details about how the Echo-1 skin will be used, it appears that it may be applied to one of the game’s new hoverboards. The design of the bustin’-mobile suggests that players will get to cruise around in style, adding a fun twist to the gameplay experience.

One of the crossover items in Destiny 2’s Ghostbusters event is a Sparrow bedecked in demonic horns. While the design may seem more fitting for a game like Diablo, it adds an element of mystery and intrigue to the event. After the introduction of Slimer and Echo-1, the developers had to get creative with their offerings, leading to the creation of this unique Sparrow design.

The Ghostbusters goodies will be available in Destiny 2 starting on March 19th, coinciding with the release of the new Ghostbusters sequel, Frozen Empire. While fans may be excited to participate in the crossover event, one can’t help but wonder if the Ghostbusters franchise will ever truly rest in peace. With the constant stream of reboots and sequels, it seems that Ghostbusters will continue to be a cash cow for nostalgia, providing endless opportunities for crossovers and collaborations in various forms of media.
