The upcoming Superman reboot, set to be released next year, is breaking new ground by including a familiar face in a cameo role. Will Reeve, the son of the late Christopher Reeve, who famously portrayed Superman in the 1978 film, will be making an appearance in the new movie. Director James Gunn is paying tribute to the original Superman star by featuring Reeve’s son in a pivotal role.

Will Reeve, who currently works as a reporter for ABC, will portray a TV reporter in the film. In a behind-the-scenes video captured by Cleveland.com, Reeve is seen filming a scene on the streets of Metropolis, the fictional city where Superman operates. The footage shows Reeve’s character reporting on an event unfolding in the city, with other extras reacting to the appearance of another superhero.

The inclusion of Will Reeve in the new Superman movie continues a long-standing tradition in the franchise. Previous actors who have portrayed Superman or other characters in the series have often made cameo appearances in later films. Christopher Reeve himself maintained this tradition by appearing in the TV show Smallville as Dr. Virgil Swann, alongside Tom Welling’s Clark Kent. Now, Will Reeve is carrying on this legacy by appearing in the upcoming reboot.

In addition to his role in the new Superman movie, Will Reeve is also supporting an upcoming documentary about his father, titled “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story.” The documentary, produced by Warner Bros., will shed light on the life and career of Christopher Reeve, exploring his impact on the world of superhero films. With the support of Will Reeve and the rest of the Reeve family, the documentary is set to have a limited release in theaters on September 21.

Fans of the Superman franchise can look forward to the new reboot hitting theaters on July 11. Directed by James Gunn and featuring an all-new take on the iconic superhero, the film promises to be a fresh and exciting addition to the Superman cinematic universe. Will Reeve’s cameo appearance adds an extra layer of significance to the movie, honoring the legacy of his father and the original Superman star, Christopher Reeve.
